Today, 10 of us set off from Buckingham on a 14 mile circular walk led by Chris.
The route took us out to Maids Moreton and Akeley before continuing on to our lunch stop at 'Blackpit Brewery Cafe'.
We then returned to Buckingham via Dadford and Stowe School.
Thank you, Chris for a super, varied route and to everyone for your fabulous company. It may have been a dull day, but our spirits were definitely not dampened. ![]()

Fourteen of us walked from Greens Norton today on our morning walk before the group AGM. It wasn't a good day for taking photos with the drizzle and low cloud but Bradden and Blakesley, and the rolling countryside in between, are still attractive even in this weather!
A few photos from today's walk led by Dennis.
16 of us headed out from Long Buckby, with a stop to celebrate Paul's Birthday over a slice of cake.
Our lunch break was at Whilton Locks Cafe, where we were made to feel most welcome.
Thanks for a great walk Dennis, with the added bonus of arriving back before the heavy rain began.
A big 'thank you' to Charles for organising today's very enjoyable walk and festive lunch. ![]()

It may have been muddy at times, but great fun was had, in good company and with delicious food... what could be better...? ![]()
A small but perfectly formed group of 8 of us braved the mud and cold this morning on todays excellent 14ish mile walk. Led by Clive, we started in Farthingstone, onto Little Preston, Plumpton Woods, Blakesley for lunch stop then back to Farthingstone via Litchborough. Thanks Clive!
Today Evelyn led us over the border into Leicestershire and Rutland. After a misty murky start the visibility improved and we enjoyed some lovely rolling countryside and pretty villages. We encountered some traditional farm livestock and also some less common farm animals!
Apart from a short shower after lunch the rain stayed away. A superb day out.
Today's 'Fabulous Friday Walk' was Sue's first as leader.
Starting out from Watford village, this was a super 12+ mile circular route which was full of variety.
As well as beautiful views, we enjoyed a mixture of paths and scenery, including a visit to Ashby St Ledgers (where the Gunpowder Plot was hatched) and a pulse-quickening walk across the loop line railway track.
Luck was also very much with us today, as the one heavy downpour arrived just as we got to our pub lunch stop.
Thank you Sue for a great walk (and for your delicious cake).
