Whittlebury - 22nd March 2026

A few photos from yesterday's joint Ramblers/LDWA walk led by Chris from Whittlebury. Thank you to Steve Clark for most of these pics, with a couple of mine added in as well.

Thanks Chris for an excellent 18 mile walk. The day of sunshine that the met office promised didn't quite materialise but the 12 of us still had a superb walk. (We won't mention leaving the pub at lunchtime with only 11 🙂)

Weedon Lois - 20th March 2026

A selection of photos from today's fabulous 13 mile walk from Weedon Lois, led by Enid with able assistance from Charles and Paul.

It was misty and chilly as we set out,  but soon became lovely and warm once the sun broke through.

This was a great route with wonderful, far-reaching views, beautiful Spring flowers and pretty villages. The 'al fresco' breaks at Moreton Pinkney and Sulgrave Churches were also much enjoyed.

A fantastic day! 🌞

Woburn - 13th March 2026

A few pictures from Friday's excellent 'Figure of Eight' walk led by Jenny.  A 13 mile walk starting in Woburn, the first half was through the deer park, with a lunch stop at Emma's Cafe. The second half was a more strenuous circular walk over the hills and. through the woods. Great day!

Syresham - 6th March 2026

It's a shame the sun disappeared for our walk today from Syresham, but at least the rain stayed away. Although the mud looks bad it had dried out a lot from the last time I was there a couple of weeks ago.

We had a lunch stop at the Flight Deck Cafe on Turweston aerodrome where the runway was shared by planes and testing a racing touring car.

Crick - 1st March 2026

Sixteen miles today felt more like twenty as we slid about in the mud, but it was good to see some sunshine. With an abundance of daffodils and snowdrops and the blackthorn coming in to flower it almost feels like spring!

Cransley - 27th February 2026

There were 14 of us on today's 'fabulous Friday' walk, with the route taking us via Rothwell, Thorpe Malsor and Loddington.

Although a bit muddy in places, we were suitably sustained by two lots of homemade cake at our morning 'al fresco' coffee stop.

We were so lucky with the weather, staying pretty much dry and the sun even making an appearance during the afternoon. With perfect timing, we returned back to our cars just a couple of minutes before some very heavy rain arrived.. phew!

Thank you for leading us Evelyn...on another great day of walking! 😁

Newnham - 21st February 2026

On a glorious gentle, gold-glazed morning, Gill gathered a genial group for a gorgeous, ground-covering ramble. We gradually left Newnham village greeting grand old gateways and gracious gardens before going onto Everdon village where great gusts of fresh gamely air gave us gusto! We gathered at the journeys gentle goodby gladdened by good company, green glades and Gill’s guiding grace 🥳😂😎

Weston - 20th February 2026

A few photos of today's 13 mile circular walk from Weston.

This one was a lovely, varied route that took in the pretty villages of Helmdon (where we stopped for a break in the Church) and Sulgrave.

The 'Hole in the Hedge Cafe' (just outside Greatworth) was given a big 'thumbs up' by us all as a lovely, welcoming, unique lunch venue and definitely one worth a re-visit.

We're getting quite adept at walking in all weathers (rain, wind and a small glimpse of sunshine today) and with varying ground conditions.

Thank you, Paul for another 'fabulous Friday walk!'

Winwick - 13th February 2026

Today's walk from Winwick (onwards to Elkington and Cold Ashby) certainly felt like one of the coldest, wettest ever... and it definitely tested our waterproofs! 😅
Thank you Mark for leading us and for the excellent choice of lunch stop at The World Peace Cafe in Thornby.
Another great Friday walk.. What an intrepid bunch we are!
