Leicestershire Round part 2 of 8. Linear day walk of 12½ miles. Car-share from CS at 08:00. All cars, no more than half full, travel to Moat Lane, Barwell SP 439965. Full cars then travel to the walk start at Leire church SP 525900. Lunch alfresco. No dogs please. Steve Sayers.

Evening walk of a leisurely 5¼ miles. 19:00 start from Hanging Houghton, telephone box SP 753736. Lamport, Blueberry Lodge and Blueberry Grange. Claire Craddock.

Ouse views. Morning walk of 7 miles. 09:30 start from Sharnbrook SP 999594. Park in side streets. Pub lunch to be arranged. Taking in Felmersham then towards Odell country park, across Pavenham golf course and heading for Radwell, returning via Pinchmill Isles. A few stiles. No dogs please. Sue & Michael Holmes.
Saturday 4th July
Shropshire day walk. Car-share from The Turnpike, Harpole Turn, Weedon Road at 07:00. Clee Hills off the map. Bert Jones.
Afternoon walk of 6 miles. 14:00 start from the pancake race's finish line, near Olney Church SP 890510. Park considerately in the town centre. Walking through Emberton Country Park to Emberton via Filgrave and Petsoe End. Bob & Joan Bradley.
Sunday 5th July
Breakfast and Cream Tea. Morning & Afternoon walks: a leisurely morning 7 miles, afternoon 5 miles. Car-share from CS at 08:10 for breakfast at 08:45 at The King's Head, Syresham, followed by a walk from there at 09:45 SP 631414. Park considerately on the road or grass verge. Lunch at The King's Head, where pub grub is available and our own food is OK in the garden. The afternoon walk starts at 13:45 from The King's Head, followed by cream tea at 16:15 back at The King's Head. Full details of costs and booking arrangements are in our newsletter. Book breakfast and / or cream tea by 29th June at the latest. No need to book just for the walks. Morning towards Radstone, Astwell Park Farm and Old Park Farm. Afternoon - Whitfield and Crowfield. Evening walk of a leisurely 4½ miles. 19:00 start from The Spread Eagle, Forest Road, Piddington SP 804544. Gillian Horrell.
Wednesday 8th July
Summer Leys and the Nene Valley. Morning walk of a leisurely 7 miles. 09:30 start from The Stag's Head pub, Great Doddington SP 885650. Park in pub car park. Pub lunch available after the walk. Through the Summer Leys Nature Reserve across the Nene Valley and back alongside the river past Hardwater Mill. 10 stiles. No dogs please. Bob Entwistle.
Sunday 12th July
Morning & Afternoon walks (Figure-of-8): morning 8¼ miles, afternoon 4¾ miles. Car-share from CS at 08:00 for a 09:00 start from Middleton Cheney Sports & Social Club, Astrop Road SP 499415. Park in Astrop Road; village fête day so please park considerately. Lunch at the fête, beer tent etc. where our own food is OK outside. Afternoon walk starts at 13:30 from The Club. As the village fête is on the same day, those joining in the afternoon may need to park further away from The Club and recreation ground. Morning northerly via Chacombe and Wardington. Afternoon southerly probably passing through fields with alpacas/llamas. Peter Hawes.
Wednesday 15th July
Time Team Roman Villa and Podington Drag Track. Morning walk of 6½ miles. Car-share from CS at 08:15 or meet the leader at the 09:30 start from The Bedford Arms in Souldrop village SP 986617. Park in the pub car park if you will be lunching there, otherwise park with consideration nearby. Time Team's 22nd February 2009 dig at SP972597 found evidence of a Roman villa and shed. 1 stile. Thursday 16th July
Evening walk of 5 miles. 19:00 start from Ashby St Ledgers Church (4 miles north of Daventry, just east of A361) SP 573682. Please park considerately in village side streets. Dogs on leads ONLY. A flat walk following the Jurassic Way and part of the canal towpath to Welton. A few stiles. Joan & Dave Standring.

Saturday 18th July
Peak District walk of 12 miles. Takes in Hollingsclough Rake and Chrome Hill. Car-share from The Turnpike, Harpole Turn, Weedon Road at 07:00 for a walk starting from the car park in Buxton Country Park SK 049719. Lunch alfresco. Maximum car sharing. Brandside - Hollingsclough - Chrome Hill - High Edge Raceway - Diamond Hill. No dogs please. Allan Davies.
Afternoon walk of 5½ miles. 14:00 start from The Causeway Car Park, Pitsford Reservoir SP 780702. Dogs must be on a lead. A circular walk on the southern side of Pitsford Reservoir. A few stiles. Peter & Janet Ellement.
Sunday 19th July
Circular day walk of 12½ miles. 09:30 start by Hanslope Church, Church End SP 804467. Please park considerately in the village. Lunch at The Barley Mow in Cosgrove, where pub grub is available and our own food is OK in the garden. A leisurely walk to Cosgrove and stroll back partly along the canal. No dogs please. Wednesday 22nd July
Morning walk of 8½ miles. 09:30 start from Fringford Village Hall SP 604287. Park adjacent to village green (not in Village Hall car park). Walking from Candleford (Fringford) to Larkrise in the footsteps of Flora Thompson. Walking via Hethe, Cottisford, Juniper Hill and Hardwick. Bob & Joan Bradley.

Evening walk of 5 miles. 19:00 start from School Lane, Harpole SP 689609. Walking via Nobottle with good views. 2 stiles. No dogs please. Maureen Bott.

Afternoon walk of a leisurely 6½ miles. 14:00 start from Pytchley, Village Hall car park, signed off Church Road (first / last turning on the outskirts of the village from Orlingbury Road SP 860743. Little Harrowden and Isham. 10 stiles. David Craddock.
