The Pegsdon and Barton Hills. Circular Day walk of 13 miles. Car-share from CS at 08:30 for a 09:30 start from The Live and Let Live pub, Pegsdon TL 122302. Please use parking bays to west of village. Lunch alfresco. The route passes through Pegsdon Hills and Barton Hills Nature Reserves and includes Deacon Hill, Telegraph Hill, Warden Hill, Galley Hill and the Barton Hills. Parts of the Chiltern way, Iknield Way and John Bunyan Trail are used. There are some steep sections, but otherwise the route is relatively easy going on mainly good tracks. No stiles. Afternoon walk starts at 14:00 from The White Hart. The morning break will be at Upper Stowe, by The Old Dairy Farm. Morning via Nether Heyford and Church Stowe. Afternoon towards Brockhall and Little Brington. 8+14 stiles. The Flore Village Fête will be on in the afternoon. John Tye. 1 at CS. Linear afternoon walk of a leisurely 3-5 miles. 14:00 start from Beckett's Park at the junction of Bedford Road and Nunns Mill Road SP 762600. Pay & Display car park nearby. Walk along the allegedly improved Nene Way towards Kislingbury, and catch the bus back. Therefore option to terminate the walk early. Maurice Tebbutt.

Four village circular. Morning walk of 10½ miles. Car-share from CS at 08:40 or meet the leader at the 09:30 start from the layby on B4525 (Crowfield to Greatworth) just past the Falcutt turn SP 593425. Although a large layby, please park considerately as it is popular with other users. Walking via Falcutt, Crowfield, Radstone & Helmdon. 6 stiles. No dogs please. Jeff Noble.

Water and woods. Morning walk of 6¾ miles. 09:30 start from The Bell pub, Odell SP 966578. Park in pub car park if having lunch, otherwise park considerately nearby. Peak District walk of 12 miles, including a lengthy section of the High Peak Trail. Car-share from The Turnpike, Harpole Turn, Weedon Road at 07:00 for a walk starting from Main St in Monyash, near the church SK 152665. Lunch alfresco. Maximum car sharing. Easy walking including stretches of the Limestone Way, passing through Flagg and past the Parsley Hay visitor centre. No dogs please. David Craddock.

Morning walk of a leisurely 7 miles. 09:30 start from Middleton Cheney, Sports & Social Club. SP 499415. Use car park if open, otherwise park considerately nearby. Pub lunch available after the walk. The walk just touches Farthinghoe, passes Lord Heseltine's pad and through the attractive village of Thenford. David Craddock.

Peak District walk of 11½ miles takes in Youlgrave, Over Haddon, Lathkill Dale and Monyash. Car-share from The Turnpike, Harpole Turn, Weedon Road at 07:00 for a walk starting from Monyash village SK 150666. Park considerately in the centre of Monyash village. Lunch alfresco, maybe be able to use a pub in Youlgrave. Maximum car sharing. Walk goes through picturesque Lathkill Dale. Pub and tearoom in Monyash at finish. No dogs please. Brian Fletcher.

Roaming the Rollrights. Circular day walk of 11 miles. Car-share from CS at 08:15 for a 09:45 start from Long Compton, Warwickshire, near Victoria Cottage on the A3400 SP 288333. Park in Crockwell Street, first left after the church (coming from Chipping Norton). Lunch alfresco or bought at Garden Centre tea room. Taking in three delightful villages on the Oxon/Warwicks border following parts of the Macmillan, D'Arcy-Dalton and Shakespeare Ways with points of prehistoric interest. Walking through to Great Rollright and Little Rollright with their attractive churches. Prehistoric monuments en route. A few stiles. No dogs please. Sue & Michael Holmes. 18 walkers observed two minutes' silence and finished at 16:15.

Morning walk of 7 miles. 09:30 start from Navigation Public House, Stoke Bruerne SP 744498. Park in pub car park if frequenting pub for lunch after the walk. A leisurley 7mile walk taking in Shutlanger and Alderton, and returning via the Grand Union Canal. Allan Davies. 35 walkers observed two minutes' silence and finished at 12:35. 27 ate pub lunch at £5 each.

Park in the two lay-bys on A45, otherwise on the edge of the village as close as possible. Lunch at Draycote Water Visitors Centre. Food and facilities available on site, or own outside. Walking via Braunston, Woolscott to Draycote Water. Short section along reservoir side to Visitor Centre where can buy snacks/drinks and use facilities or sit outside to eat own food. A choice of 2 walks, both starting from The White Hart, Grafton Regis, NN12 7SR SP 756466:-
A circular day walk of 11½ miles. Car-share from CS at 08:40 (if doing the whole day) or meet the leader at the 09:15 walk start. Double-park well into the paddock beyond (through) the pub car park. Lunch at The Cock Inn, Hanslope, where our own food is OK. No dogs please. Brian Fletcher.
Or an afternoon walk of 4½ miles starting at 13:15. No parking in the tarmac pub car park, but we may park at the Village Hall at the corner of A508 and The Lane. Frank & Shirley Row.
Both walks will aim to finish at 15:30, when The White Hart will open for us. Dinner at 16:00 will be 3 courses + coffee. Choices to be made on the day from starters to include soups & melon, roasts of turkey, beef, lamb/pork & vegetarian, and puddings to include Christmas Pudding. A typical menu. The carol service time has been changed to 18:00 in Grafton Regis Church.
Booking was required for the dinner by 7th December. The first 29 to book will be in the restaurant; the laggards will be in the bar area, and the last to book will be next to the parrot. Christmas Dinner or alternative menu available. There is no need to pre-book, but it would be helpful to let the leader know by 2 Dec if you are intending to eat, so that there is a good indication of numbers. A circular walk on the Nene Way and the Midshires Way including Grand Union Canal towpath. No dogs please. Bob Entwistle.
