Afternoon walk of a leisurely 4¼ miles. 13:45 start from the junction of Camp Hill and Pilgrims Lane, Bugbrooke (400 yards south of The Baker's Arms) SP 678571. Returning along The Northamptonshire Round and The Grand Union Canal. 4 stiles. John Tye. Started with 25 and a dog, grew to 26 and the dog, but finished at 15:40 with 24 and the dog.

Circular day walk of 12 miles. Car-share from CS at 09:00 or meet the leader at the 10:00 start from Titchmarch, near the church TL 022798. Park considerately around the village. Lunch al fresco, so bring a packed lunch. Walking via Barnwell and Armston. John Ledger.

Morning walk of 8 miles. 09:30 start from The Griffins Head, Mears Ashby SP 840665. Use pub car park if patronising, otherwise park considerately elsewhere in village. Pub lunch available after the walk. Walking via Sywell and Hardwick. Frank Row. 34 turned up, but only 33 walked because one had forgotten her boots. Finished after 9 miles at 13:00. 19 ate in the pub.

Afternoon walk of a leisurely 6 miles. 13:00 start from The White Horse pub in Old SP 786732. Park considerately in the village. No dogs please. Frank Ashford. Walk finished at 15:00.
Sunday 11th January
Circular day walk of 12½ miles. Car-share from CS at 08:00 for a 09:15 start from Nassington church TL 063961. Park considerately near the church. Lunch at King's Cliffe Ex-Serviceman's Club, where our own food is OK. The walk passes a number of 2nd World War emplacements and pill boxes, Woodnewton and Apethorpe. David Craddock.

Afternoon walk of a leisurely 5½ miles. 13:30 start from Northampton, Shelfleys Car Park SP 732575. The car park has a barrier which is shut at 17:00 - hence the earlier start time to be on the safe side. Canal and fields to Rothersthorpe, return via bridleway alongside crematorium. Lunch at The White Hart in Flore where our own food is OK in the garden. Graham Edmonds. Started with 22 walkers and a dog. 3 ate Sunday roast in the pub while it rained. Finished with 21 walkers at 16:00.

Morning walk of 6¼ miles. 09:30 start from Paulerspury - meet by the village hall just up from The Barley Mow pub SP 717455. Park anywhere along the high street at the Barley Mow end. Pub lunch available after the walk at The Barley Mow. A pleasant easy walk with a couple of large ploughed fields to cross - well, it was easy in the summer on a hot day after the crops had been harvested. 8 stiles. No dogs please. Jeff Noble.

Peak District walk of 13 miles. Stunning views and several hill climbs around Hayfield village. Car-share from The Turnpike, Harpole Turn, Weedon Road at 07:00 or meet the leader at the walk start from Bowden Bridge pay & display car park on Kinder Road, 1km east of Hayfield village SK 048869. Lunch alfresco, but there is a pub in Old Warden for drinks and pub grub. View Cardington Hangers and the prettiest village in Bedfordshire. Bus fare £3.10 (free with bus pass). Lunch at The Cardigan Arms, Moulton, where our own food is essential. Walking via Scaldwell, Pitsford Water Causeway, Holcot, Moulton, Boughton and Boughton Obelisk. Fran & Peter Pollak. 1 at Greyfriars Bus Staion and 9 at Whitehills finished at 15:30.

Wakefield Lodge Estate. Morning walk of 9½ miles. 09:30 start from Paulerspury, in The High Street by the playing fields / village hall (just past The Barley Mow pub) SP 717455. Park anywhere along The High Street, but not near the Church please. Sunday Roast a possibility in The Barley Mow. This walk incorporates a 3 mile stretch through the Wakefield Lodge Estate, which is open to the public for a limited period (April 1st - May 31st) each year. The route circles the Wakefield Lawns in Whittlewood Forest going via Wakefield Farm and Lodge. 8 stiles. No dogs please. Jeff Noble.
