Afternoon walk of a leisurely 5 miles, taking about 2½ hours, suitable for families. 14:00 start from the corner of The High Street, Crick, outside the Co-op, opposite the Wheatsheaf PH SP 590724. Park considerately in Crick village or in the small car park in Bury Dyke. This is a very easy walk, almost entirely over level ground. The route is to Yelvertoft over fields and back along the Grand Union Canal towpath, observing much flora and fauna. 2 stiles. No dogs please. Brenda & Frank Ashford.

Sunday 2nd September
Everdon Ramble. Circular Day walk of 11½ miles. Car-share from CS at 10:25 or meet the leader at the 11:00 start from the small triangular green on The Nene Way in Upper Weedon SP 621589. Park considerately in Upper Weedon. Lunch alfresco, so bring packed lunch. The walk goes to Little Everdon, Fawsley Hall, Preston Capes, Snorscombe, Everdon, Everdon Stubbs and back to Upper Weedon past the trig point. Andrew Marten.
Wednesday 5th September
Circular Day walk of 9½ miles. 09:45 start from Harrold Country Park SP 956567. Voluntary parking fee of £1. Lunch in one of the two Stevington pubs, but not our own food. The morning walk is via Odell and Pavenham; the afternoon via Carlton. The walk uses The Ouse Valley Way and John Bunyan Way. No dogs please. Bob & Joan Bradley.

Peak District walk of 12-13 miles takes in Monks Dale - rocky and slippery if wet. Car-share from The Turnpike, Harpole Turn, Weedon Road at 07:00 or meet the leader at the walk start from Tideswell SK 152755. Lunch alfresco. Maximum car sharing. Bring full wet-weather clothing, packed lunch and drinks. Brian Hill.

Walking via Grafton Regis, Alderton and Stoke Bruerne, returning via the canal. A few stiles. No dogs please. Brian & Di Hopkins. 27 walkers finished at 12:35. 20 ate a two-course lunch for £5, and one came in just for a drink.

Lunch at St. Michael's Football Social Club, Birds Close, Bugbrooke, where our own food is essential. Bring binoculars. Morning walk via Kislingbury Lakes, Kislingbury, Nene Way and Bugbrooke Mill. Afternoon walk via Grand Union Canal and Rothersthorpe. Fran & Peter Pollak. Started with 9 walkers who were unable to walk between the Kislingbury Lakes because of the building of the new road. 7 walkers finished at 15:50

John Wheeler. 19 walkers finished at 12:35, having walked our working party's Hellidon Steps. 15 ate a two-course lunch for £5.50, and two more came in for a drink.

Tuesday 16th October
Circular Day walk of 12 miles. 10:00 start from The Village Green, High Street, Napton on the Hill, Warwickshire SP 464609. Park at the village green or close by in the village. Lunch at The Red Lion, Hellidon, where pub grub is available and our own food is OK in the garden. The morning walk passes the windmill on Napton Hill then heads for a half-mile stretch of The Oxford Canal, then South East to Priors Marston. After lunch we take in Lower Catesby and Upper Shuckburgh. No dogs please. Sue & Michael Holmes.

Blisworth Tunnel. Afternoon walk of 7 miles. 14:00 start from St John the Baptist Church, Blisworth, at the corner of Towcester Rd and Church Lane SP 725535. Park with consideration in Blisworth. Following parts of The Midshires Way with good views and over Blisworth Hill, following the line of The Grand Union tunnel, to Stoke Bruerne and back. Andrew Marten.

Morning walk of 7 miles. 09:30 start from outside The White Horse pub in Old SP 786732. Park at the pub if frequenting it afterwards, otherwise park in the lane outside the church. Pub lunch available after the walk. May be muddy. The walk includes the lost hamlet of Faxton, panoramic views towards Draughton and Old above Scaldwell, plus a hunting tower dating from the 1720s. Walking via Holdenby Church, East Haddon and Holdenby North Lodge. Two arches remaining of the Elizabethan Holdenby House, built by Sir Christopher Hatton; the present house and grounds are often open to the public. Margaret Mabbutt.

The afternoon walk starts at 13:30 from The Eykyn Arms. The morning walk includes a bit of canal on the way to Bugbrooke, then uphill to Pattishall, then via Astcote, Eastcote and Dalscote, and up another hill back to Gayton. The afternoon walks a circle inside the morning's circle, using more canal, and climbing three more hills. Park considerately in the village or in The Reservoir Car Park (across The Causeway, so allow yourself an extra 10 minutes in case you have to do this). Pub lunch available somewhere after the walk. The walk uses footpaths to Pitsford (not the reservoir path), permissive paths around Pitsford, and returns over Moulton College land. Margaret Mabbutt.

The morning walk will be via Lincoln Lodge, the Hanslope Circular Ride, New Farm, a small section of the Milton Keynes Boundary Walk, Chantry Farm, Pindon End, towards Long Street and Hanslope and back to Castlethorpe. The afternoon walk will be via Cosgrove and Thrupp Wharf, along the canal (MK Boundary Walk again) to Cosgrove and back.
