Christmas Walk, Dinner and Carol Service

As many of you will know Gill Howe faced a nightmare situation in organising this event when she learnt that Peggottys at Fosters Booth, where our meal was booked, was closing. A complete re-arrangement of her plans was necessary, resulting in the walk starting from Gayton and the meal also being arranged there in the Queen Victoria Inn. She also organised our own improvised and well-attended carol service in the church, courtesy of the Church Warden, with John Tye playing the organ in splendid fashion, and ramblers giving the readings. There was a huge turnout for the walks and the pub was filled to capacity with over 50 walkers enjoying an excellent meal.

It all turned out extremely well, much to the relief of Gill and due entirely to the efficient and tenacious manner in which she turned events around. Many thanks and congratulations Gill.
