To eat our own food we may have to sit outside. Graham Edmonds. Nobody at CS. 15 walkers in the morning. 17 after lunch in the garden (by choice), including a prospective new member. Ate blackberries and damsons, and collected walnuts. Finished at 15:25.

Lunch at Aynho playing field; drink afterwards at Cartwright Arms (our own food banned in the pub). Walking via Hinton in the Hedges and Aynho, returning via Croughton. No dogs please. Finished at 12:10. 15 in the Bull afterwards, of whom 11 had a 2-course meal for £3.95, the last person (me) leaving at 14:00.

Circular day walk of 10 miles. CS 09:00 or meet the leader for a 09:45 start from Banbury Lane, near Fulling Mill, west of Blakesley SP 609507. Park on the grass verge. Lunch at The Old Red Lion in Litchborough, where our own food is OK in the pub. OK for dogs on a lead and for older children. The morning is mostly over grass or track via Maidford and Farthingstone; afternoon heading south via Foxley Lodge to Blakesley. John Bartlett. 23 walkers on the 5½-miles morning. 24 on the 4½-miles afternoon. Finished at 15:30. A grey day.

Sunday 7th November Area AGM. Choice of walks from 3½ to 11 miles followed by AGM. All walks start from the Memorial Hall Car Park, Great Doddington, open for parking from 09:00.
First walk: 09:30, 10-11 miles, with lunch at Wollaston, Chris Eilbeck,
Second walk: 09:45, 8½ miles, with lunch at Grendon, Rick Harrison,
Third walk: 13:00, 3½ miles, Frank Row. All walks planned to finish by 14:30 in time for the 15:00 start of the AGM. 12 walkers on the 09:30 walk, which used the Boot Inn at Wollaston.

Afternoon walk of 4 miles. 13:45 start from Walgrave Village Hall Car Park SP 801720. Not suitable for disabled, but OK for children and dogs with leads. Walking to Old across fields, and back along the edge of a nature reserve (Pitsford). Takes in an historical site. John Beale. 30 walkers started the walk, and 31 finished it. Visited the moat of North Hall Manor, and the medieval village of Walgrave. Finished at 16:00.

Circular day walk of 12½ miles, shorter if bad weather. CS 08:30 or meet the leader for a 09:30 start from outside Royal Oak PH off A43 in Duddington SK 989005. Park after PH, into village. Lunch at King's Cliffe ex-Servicemen's Social Club. The walk follows the Welland on high banks, through Wakerley and Fineshade Woods. Good chance of seeing deer and Red Kites. Includes bridge at Duddington over the Welland; churches at Tixover, Wakerley and Duddington; and Fineshade Abbey site. Chris Eilbeck. 19 walkers. 9 miles in the morning. Did indeed see kites and a deer, which needed rescuing. Finished at 15:30.

Sunday 21st November Circular day walk of 12 miles. CS 09:00 for a 09:30 start from the layby on the Church Brampton to East Haddon Road SP 714665. Lunch at The Chequers, Ravensthorpe, where our own food is OK in the pub. Margaret Kirchmeier. 20 walkers in the morning, 18 in the afternoon. The morning 8 miles via Holdenby and East Haddon. A drizzly day. Actually 12.8 miles. Finished at 15:30.

A Wildfowl Wander. Afternoon walk of 3 miles. 13:00 start from Summer Leys nature reserve car park (between Great Doddington & Wollaston) SP 886634. Bring Binoculars. A short circular walk round the reserve, and up to Great Doddington and back. Bird watching opportunities en route. No dogs please. Jim Fletcher. 13 walkers on a grey day. Finished at 15:30, having seen Shovelers, Golden Eye, Lapwings & Golden Plover by the hundred, Great Crested Grebes, Pintails, Reed Buntings and Tree Sparrows, not to mention the tits, finches and common water birds.

Lunch at the Red Lion, where it is OK to eat our own food. Afternoon starts at 13:45 from the Red Lion. Walking via Whiston, Castle Ashby and Brafield. Alec & Doreen Redgrave. 25 walkers on the drizzly morning, 15 on the lightly raining afternoon. Arrived at the pub at 12:00, but had to eat in the garden.

Christmas Walk, Dinner and Carol Service. Details have had to change dramatically. These are the new details. Figure-of-8 walk: morning 6½ miles, afternoon 4 miles. CS 09:00 for 09:30 start from Gayton, near the Eykyn Arms. Lunch will be at the Eykyn Arms (Gayton), where our own food is OK, and where the afternoon walk starts at 13:30. The walk will be followed at 15:30 for 16:00 by Christmas Dinner at Queen Victoria Inn (Gayton), now fully booked, then a ramblers' own carol service in Gayton Church at 18:00. You are welcome to come on just the walk (or the carol service) without booking. Gill Howe. 28 walkers in the morning, 30 in the pub at lunch time, 43 on the afternoon walk, 49 for the meal and a good number in the church. The morning was via the canal, Eastcote and Dalscote. The afternoon via Rothersthorpe. Quite a sunny day.
