2nd Nightingale walk
19:00 start from the Visitor Centre, Paxton Pitts Nature Reserve, off the A1 just north of St Neots TL 196629. Leisurely 2 hours' walk with a guide to listen to and learn about nightingales and other fauna and flora. £2 fee, payable on the night, includes light refreshments. Car sharing will be arranged. Saturday 11th May Day walk in Bleaklow, Derbyshire. Depart 07:00 from the UGC Cinema car park, Sixfields. Arduous high-level moorland walk of 11 miles with 1805 feet of ascent. Bring full wet-weather / warm clothing, packed lunch and drinks. Route may be changed depending on conditions. Maximum car sharing. Brian Hill.

Two walks: a circular day walk of 13¾ miles, or an afternoon walk of 5 miles.
CS 08:50 for the day walk. Park and meet in Kettering Road, Broughton, near the Sun PH for a 09:30 start. SP 836762. In the morning view the clearing work for bridleway 6R9, which has been blocked for about 30 years. Our own lunchtime food is OK at the White Horse, Old; or Sunday roast is available.
There will be a rally at Old Playing Fields at 13:30, then the longer walk leaves Old by footpath DF1 to where it is truncated short of Pitsford Reservoir. David Craddock
